Motorcycles accidents are often devastating. The protection provided by a motorcycle is limited mainly to the helmet worn by the driver making injuries or death more likely than a car in the event of an accident. Sometimes car drivers don't see motorcyclists, causing accidents that are sometime not forgiving.

Earlier this week, the Georgia State Patrol said a recent war veteran was killed in a motorcycle accident. The man served a tour of duty that started in October 2009 and he was scheduled to deploy again this summer. A report said that the accident was caused when his motorcycle crashed into a Toyota Corolla, which pulled out from another road.

One mistake on the road can cause serious injuries. Police say the man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident,

It's unclear who was at fault in the accident but the effects will surely be felt by the man's family. Drivers need to do their part in watching for motorcycles since motorcyclists don't have the luxury of protection provided by the metal encasement of a car.

Those who have been injured in a motorcycle accident often face serious injuries and long recoveries. Hospital bills can quickly add up to make for a stressful financial situation. Victims of Georgia motorcycle accidents also sometimes have to miss work for their recovery causing lost wages. Drivers who cause accidents should be held accountable for these costs. A personal injury attorney may be able to help an accident victim recover compensation for their injuries.
